Charlotte Martinez – Administrative Assistant
Mrs. Martinez has worked for Taos Soil and Water Conservation District for over 14 years. She resides in Llano Quemado with her husband Max and their daughter. Mrs. Martinez is a graduate of Taos High School and has taken Secretarial Administration courses at Northern New Mexico Community College. Charlotte is in charge of the District Animal Damage program, Noxious Weed cost-share program and office sales of conservation related materials. She has an extensive knowledge of Taos SWCD programs and participants. Mrs. Martinez is also familiar with the history of Taos SWCD and has experience in working with the local and native conservation communities.
Peter Vigil – District Manager
Mr. Vigil has worked for Taos Soil and Water Conservation District for 15 years. He resides with his wife Jeanette in Ranchitos with their 6 children. His first tenure was as Administrative Technician and more recently as District Manager. Mr. Vigil is a graduate of Taos High School and holds a B.S. degree in Physics from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. He holds numerous certificates in conservation related disciplines. Peter has served for the past 3 years as the Southwest representative for the National Conservation District Employee Association and is active in the New Mexico Conservation District Employees. He served on the Board for the Taos Valley Acequia Association for 5 years and has been a commissioner on the San Francisco de Pauda Ditch since 1996.
Matthew Valerio – Field Design Technician
Mr. Valerio has worked with Taos Soil & Water Conservation District since 2004. He resides in Llano Quemado with his wife Theresa and their two children. Mr. Valerio is a graduate of Taos High School and has a surveying certificate from Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute. Mr. Valerio worked for a number of years with Luchetti Surveys as their office manager and surveyor. Matt is the draftsman for the majority of projects that Taos SWCD designs and builds. He works closely with other members of the Acequia Program team to assure quality deliverables. He is also proficient with Auto CAD sofware and has a wealth of surveying experience. Additionally, Matt has been involved with the design of subdivisions and is an asset in the subdivision review process.
Tanya Duncan – Managerial Assistant
Mrs. Duncan, a native of Taos, joined the staff of the Taos Soil and Water Conservation District in November 2013. She resides in Des Montes with her husband Subra and their two children. Mrs. Duncan holds an Associate's Degree in Business Management with additional courses in GIS, Accounting, Marketing and Design. Before returning to Taos, she ran her own retail business in Burlington, Vermont. She has also taken Spanish language courses at Escuela de Idiomas Falcon in Guanajuato, Mexico. Mrs. Duncan previously worked at the Taos Land Trust (for 17 years) where her responsibilities included managing all aspects of their land projects and GIS mapping.
W. Bruce Trujillo – CAD Design Technician
Mr. Trujillo, a native of the Taos Pueblo Tribe, joined the staff of Taos Soil and Water Conservation District in February 2015. Mr. Trujillo has 20 years of experience in the realm of Landscape Architecture. His progression has taken him through several Architectural and Landscape Architecture Planning firms. He has a long list of project experience and has been a team player in many award-winning designs. He has been instrumental in creating design guidelines and CAD graphics standards enhancing work flow and production. He is a graduate of the former Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute in Architectural Design/Drafting Technology.
